A little background for those that may not know ... Kevin and Don have been together since December, 1995! They met at Tracks nightclub in D.C....which now is closed! <sigh> They moved in together after only knowing one another for about 8 months! (yeah, we were young and crazy..) We first lived in Towson (near Baltimore) where Kevin went to Towson U. That was year one! The 2nd year of living together we moved a short distance north to Cockeysville. Kevin still went to Towson U and Don worked at Enterprise Rent-a-Car. After Kevin finished at T.U. they moved to Beltsville for three years. That's when Kevin started his job with Swank Audio Visuals in DC.
Kevin was born in Canada due to the fact that his father worked for the US Government. But, living there only a year he mostly grew up in Annapolis, Maryland! While attending Anne Arundel CC and later the Broadcasting Institute of MD he worked in local theatre behind the scenes. He has done extensive lighting design around the Annapolis, MD area. He worked for Swank Audio Visuals from April, 1998 - August, 2008 all around the D.C. area in some of the finest hotels! Swank A/V provides multimedia production support (lights, audio, projection) nationwide! They have permanent offices in hotels and conference centers across the USA. Swanks' headquarters are in St. Louis, MO. Kevin has done lighting for Steve Case (AOL, CEO), Former President and Mrs. Clinton, Muhammad Ali, the Dali Lama, former DC Mayor Williams, CEO of PepsiCO North America, Former VP and Mrs. Gore among others. He currently works for a US government agency at a Multimedia Analyst near the White House.
Don grew up in a small town in south central Pennsylvania called Greencastle. For reference (as he tells everyone) it is just north of Hagerstown, MD. He attended the Pennsylvania State University and quickly moved into the work scene after graduation. After an internship with Coopers and Lybrand he landed a job at the D.C. region of Enterprise Rent-a-Car as an Area Accountant. Through the years he was promoted three times! His final position was Accounting Manager with the Baltimore region. After a year with The Roof Center of Gaithersburg as an Assistant Controller he is currently working for AT&T (Formerly USinternetworking) as a Senior Financial Analyst.
After living in an apartments for 5 years we've lived in our Ryan Home since September 2001. See the link on our home page for more pics of the building process. Kevin keeps busy with checking message boards, YouTube, Facebook, working on our lawn plus gardening, reading Consumer Reports (what to buy?!) and wiring up the house for audio / video and X10. Also, photography (dSLR) is his latest passion! Don works out at the gym, is an accomplished runner, cooks, shops (he has saved us $$over the years with coupons! He's amazing!) and loves to shop and makes our home look beautiful! He's a wonderful decorator. (says Kevin).
